Out West on 4 Wheels

I underestimated my connecting of the dots en route from Seattle to Missoula to Jackson to Fruita to Boulder so I've had to abandon my feather-footed SUV gas mileage experiment in favor of a hammer down plan. However, I couldn't resist firing some quick snapshots along the road today.

Gracias to all in Missoula for showing off one of my new fav. towns!

Wrong turn in Yellowstone just before sunrise led to this Bison posse.

Grand Teton NP, taken between gulps of cowboy-coffee and freeze dried mac and cheese lunch.

SW to Fruita and singletrack bliss!

Student Shots - Quinault Photo Workshop

Last weekend, I taught a Fall workshop @ the Quinault Lodge in Olympic National Park. The weather was superb, students sharp, and scenery excellent. We made two field trips on Sat.--The Maple Glade Old Growth Trail in Quinault and sunset @ Ruby Beach.

Below are a few student images--I think they did pretty freakin' awesome:)

Recently Published

National Geographic used some of my work for a recently published book in their educational series. The Adventure and Exploration chapter includes a reading selection + photography from my Ribbon Of Road trip followed by a multiple choice quiz. I think that I failed the quiz but figure that kids these days are much smarter than I am:)

The good crew at Adventure Cycling also used a picture for their Fall 2008 Catalog cover shot.
